More Drug and Diagnostic Developers Than Any Focused CDx Meeting…

The World's first and largest industry-focused companion diagnostics meeting returned to Frankfurt in March 2012. To help drive the industry forward, the 5th World Companion Diagnostics Summit was once again been designed to provide cutting-edge, exclusive insights on how to turn biomarker research into successful patient stratification and to deliver better, safer drugs to market with drug-diagnostic co-development.

With fantastic feedback from drug and diagnostic developers over the past few years, this the world’s most influential meeting once again brought drug and diagnostic developers together to focus on commercialisation, cooperation and technical/scientific advances in predictive biomarker identification and CDx development.

How was the Meeting Different?

With the focus on drug developers’ challenges, there were more senior decision makers from drug developers on the agenda than any other meeting of its kind

If you’re a drug developer: The agenda, speakers and contacts at this meeting will allowed you to develop a comprehensive strategy for integrating predictive biomarkers into your drug development and to deliver a companion diagnostic to market. The agenda showed you how your peers are overcoming the same challenges you are facing and the world leading diagnostic developers will be in the same room to provide solutions.

If you’re a diagnostics developer: Because of the focus on drug developers’ needs, this meeting created the perfect environment for you to network with key decision-makersand drug developers committed to personalised medicine who are looking for solutions.

If you’re an innovative technology or service provider: You’ll would have met the world’s leading diagnostic and drug developers, all under the same roof at the same time.

So what was on the agenda?

Again, we focused on the core scientific and commercial challenges halting progress in personalised medicine and companion diagnostic development. The conference provided solutions to some of the sector’s biggest challenges, including:

  • Where are we now with the development, approval and commercialisation of companion diagnostics? What are the different patient stratification strategies companies are taking, both in large pharma and smaller drug developing companies?
  • How do you successfully translate treatment stratification markers from bench to bedside and move from a research grade assay towards a clinically useful diagnostic test?
  • How do you take a biomarker test from clinical validation to commercialisation?
  • Should you invest in in-house development or outsource? Should you develop LDTs or IVDs? What are the benefits and challenges associated with both prospective and retrospective biomarker development and in defining biomarker positive and negative patient populations?
  • Understand the latest developments in European regulation and health technology assessment and what this means for your drug and diagnostic development in Europe
  • How do we articulate the value of companion diagnostics to the wider healthcare community and drive adoption
